White screen on eMachines EM250/Acer D250 netbook. Help needed.
I have an eMachines EM250 netbook which has a serious problem with its screen. Last year the screen started flickering after being smacked against a table by accident. The screen flickered most when the lid was moved.
After about two months, the screen finally gave up and stopped working. When i powered the netbook on, the backlight would come on but the screen remained completely black.
I researched the issue on the internet and it seemed to be an issue with the cable which goes from the computer to the screen, so i ordered a new one and replaced it. But this made no difference to the problem.
After this failed attempt at fixing the issue, i went and bought another second hand netbook off the internet. But this was terrible compared to the eMachines, despite having a slightly better spec. Yesterday the hard drive in the new netbook failed, so i decided i would see if i could get the old eMachines working again.
I looked on the Internet again for a solution, and came across a 'Black Screen of Death' issue, just like mine. The fix involved flashing a new BIOS to the netbook. Obviously this had nothing to do with the screen, but i thought it might be worth a try because the problem shown in videos on YouTube was identical to the issue i was getting.
But after flashing the new BIOS, i am receiving a white screen at boot instead of a black screen.
Since the problem originally developed, there has been no picture on the screen whatsoever. I can't even get the BIOS up. Everything is completely white, or black.
I need some suggestions of other things i can try doing to get this netbook working again. Please, any advice would be greatly appreciated.
