View songs, playlists, etc from an old iTunes library (.itl) file?

Mac Basics and Help - MacRumors Forums - forums.macrumors.com
Hello,

I pulled an old macbook (circa 2011) from my attic the other day, and decided to take a trip down memory lane. During my journey I came across an old iTunes library (.itl) file, which I understand to be a log of the songs, playlists, etc. contained in said library. My question is this: Is there a way for me to view the contents of my library from that time, i.e. a snapshot of the songs, playlists, etc, even though I probably don't have all the actual media in my current iTunes library? When I try to open it with iTunes (Mac or PC) nothing happens, and TextEdit just shows a bunch of symbols and numbers. Basically, I'm looking for a nostalgia fix.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks
