Video tearing with duplicate displays

Graphics & Displays Forum - www.tomshardware.co.uk
I have my Acer V213HL monitor as my main monitor hooked up by DVI. I also have an HDMI hooked up to a Panasonic projection LCD TV, but it is almost never on. I just upgraded my video card from nVideo GTX 560ti to Radeon 7870. I have the monitors set up to duplicate. I get some extreme tearing on the Acer monitor during games, watching DVDs, and streaming video. If I disable the Panasonic, the tearing goes away. This never happened with my old video card. Is there a way to get rid of this tearing without having to disable the Panasonic? It wouldn't be much of an issue except when I re-enable the Panasonic, I can't get any sound from it without rebooting the computer.

Thanks!
