Has anyone tried using the EK x3 reservoirs upside down?

Water Cooling - www.overclock.net
I want to have multiple top ports so i can keep my routing options the way i designed them on paper, but i need to keep a fill line open as well as an inlet, on the top. I DONT want to have to pay for the EK multi-top if i dont HAVE to. I did just order the acrylic tube thats placed inside to keep the water from causing bubbles. But can i flip it upside down?

I saw an old post that sad it should work as long as you use a recessed extension cause the threads arent that deep. But no one had actually tried it. Just speculated.
