What Sonos equipment do I need for this setup?
I have a Samsung Smart TV and DirecTV receiver mounted on the wall in my garage. I have an ethernet cable running from the other side of the house to the DirecTV receiver in the garage.
I would like to add speakers to the setup. Have a couple NHT bookshelf speakers I am thinking of hanging on the wall.
I believe I need a receiver, and was thinking about getting the Sonos Connect Amp. I know I could run the speaker wire from the Connect Amp to the speakers, but I am not sure how I then connect my TV and/or DirecTV receiver to the Sonos. The Connect Amp does not have an optical port, but has an analog-in RCA jacks.
Is this possible? If so, what other Sonos equipment will I need? I probably watched 25 Sonos videos on YouTube today, but it seems like you either use the Sonos Playbar to connect to a TV or use the Connect Amp to connect to speakers for music. I was thinking this would be the start of a Sonos system in various rooms of the house, but want to start with the garage.
Also thought maybe I should just buy a $200 A/V receiver and be done with it.
