Simultaneously stream MP4 from NAS to monitor and wireless speakers
I'm looking for advice for the simplest way to wirelessly stream MP4 video files from my NAS drive to a computer monitor (which has no built-in speakers), while outputting the audio from the MP4 files via my wireless speakers. Or I wonder if it's even possible. I don't have a television.
Specifically, the MP4 files are stored on a WD My Cloud NAS, which has both Twonky DLNA media server and Plex media server running.
The computer monitor can accept DVI, HDMI and DisplayPort input.
My speakers are Denon HEOS wireless speakers, which can play audio from a music server over Wi-Fi. They also accept Bluetooth input, and have aux-in capability via a 3.5mm mini-jack.
I'm willing to buy new hardware to make this work, but as I mentioned, I'd like to keep it as simple as possible using what I've got already. My first idea was to buy a Chromecast device, but then I remembered that the computer monitor doesn't have any speakers, so I don't think that would work.
I have a laptop running Microsoft Windows 10 if it helps to solve the problem, but ideally I'd like to find a solution that doesn't require having a computer on. A wireless solution would also be preferred, but it's not non-negotiable.
Thanks for your insight.
