Routing and load balncing Require Assistance
With rising cost of ISP overage on a high tech, digital family I opted to get a second internet connection to split internet access and data usage across both connections. Currently both modems are located in my home office, both are servicing traffic on the same subnet of 192.168.0.0 Primary connection offers dhcp through a tplink router, secondary connection is a static addressing of IP and gateway.
While this works for peer name resolution and internet access throughout household and my connection to amazon vpn servers for my job,
I have to go to isp website to monitor traffic usage.
Question, can I use windows server 08 r2 ( I hold a licensing for this platform ) to act as dhcp and dns server with multi-wan load balancing, without having to add all devices within home to a private domain?
The platform is a dell power edge 2950 v3 has 2 built in NIC's and an addon card that has 2more.
I am not necessarily locked in windows server, but seeking a solution for network addressing, peer name resolution, network bandwidth monitoring, etc, all contained in one OS .
Please respond with any suggestions on how to reach a resolution WITHOUT purchasing additional hardware of software.
