recovering password on Sony Vaio laptop

Mobile Computing Forums - www.devhardware.com
Hi, i have just bought a new laptop and was wanting to check through the bios settings but have been comfronted with a password check :S.

The bios is Pheonix Bios 4 Release 6.0. I have tried several so called default passwords which include, pheonix, bios, cmos, admin, qwerty, 12345, ect with no luck.

Supposedly the password isn't kept in the bios file but on a eeprom chip or something. I have tried recommended programs like CMOSPWD and IBIOS but they don't seem to reveal much. I don't think i am running them correctly. Anyway, any help would be much appriated because i want to change the shared video memory on it for starters.
