Plex, atmos, streaming device - what should I get/do?

Networking, Media Servers & Content Streaming - www.avsforum.com
Hello all,

Not sure if this is the right location or not.

I recently got my home theater up and running. Overall things are working quite well. I need to tweak a few things but quite happy.

The only issue I am having now is that it seems I can't get my streaming setup working as I would like.

I downloaded a few Dolby Atmos demos from the Dolby site. Nothing fancy(1080p with atmos output).

The problem is that no matter what device I use, I can't get it streaming properly.

I was using Plex as a media server so maybe that is the problem?

My understanding is that it should not be touching the audio by default.

The worst thing is if I use my TV(Samsung) it does not allow Dolby Digital + and if I use my Sony U800 it doesn't have Plex interface or even allow the audio(says unsupported audio).

Should I be considering an Nvidia shield or some other device?

I would like to stream atmos, 4k and have an Ethernet jack.

Thanks for your time.
