New School build - the age old of question of Cat5e or Cat6a
We're building a new school and I am trying to find out if it is worth it for us to change our build specs to now specify running Cat6a everywhere instead of Cat5e.
I realise that with Cat6a you can do 10G upto 100m, but under what conditions and how. I've looked at 10G-T SFP+ adapters and theyre very expensive even when getting them 3rd party. I have also read that the SFP+ spec has difficulties with the adapters because they draw to much power.
I know its a pretty contensious question as there are a lot of different opinons, but I really want to hear peoples thoughts on the matter.
