Long run Fiber from house through woods to gate

Networking Matrix - Ars Technica OpenForum - arstechnica.com
We built a gate at the entrance of a driveway 1,700' from the house. I had a new power pole dropped at the gate so there is power. My issue is getting internet to the gate for camera and gate control. The direct shot through the woods is a dense 1,300' up and down.

I have been thinking I can connect fiber to the house DSL modem in the basement, run it outside and trench it the 1,300' to the gate where I could use a media converter and a switch to plug in the cameras and gate.

#1 is this something that is possible?

#2 if so I was considering 2 fiber outdoor 62.5/125

#3 Ive terminated cat 5 but not sure if I can terminate the fiber

The only other option I have is trying again at POE range extenders to get that distance.
