The Imaginary Hacker?
A good friend of mine believes that she's being hacked.
At this point, she's completely lost her mind. I don't believe she's being hacked.
She reads through her "log" files and makes up nonsense from tech garble that sounds "threatening" to her. If I disprove one thing, she moves on to the next "menacing sounding" tech garble she finds in her "logs".
Has anyone ever encountered this madness before?
If there's anything I could tell her that might calm her down, I'd greatly appreciate it. It's been going on for over a month now.
And - to provide an idea of how insane she's become - she actually threw out a very expensive bluetooth speaker I'd bought her - fearing that it had been "infected".
Currently she believes that all of her devices have been "rooted" - whatever the heck that means?
I don't know how to help her - so if anyone has any helpful advice, it would be GREATLY appreciated?
Like, for instance, "No, your device can't be rooted unless someone has physical access to it." She literally believes that some hacker is just going after everything she owns - it's that insane.
Thanks again for any help? It's driving me mad just listening to her.
