Help! iMac has died - no backup on Time capsule?

iMac - MacRumors Forums - forums.macrumors.com
Our iMac hard drive has just died and it is full of photos of the first 6 years of our childs life. We have tried repairing the disk but Disk utility says that it cannot do it and switches cpu off when we try to boot. Tried fsck -fy and that says it cannot do it either.

We have had a time capsule for the life of the machine so I thought that we would be ok but I just tried to browse the time capsule from my Macbook (using alt and clicking on Time machine and browse other backup disks) to see what the latest backup was for the iMac and it does not have an entry for the iMac only the Macbook!

Getting quite worried now.
