GTX 1080 FE says 4k TV is 1080P Native

Home Theater Computers - www.avsforum.com
Hello, hopefully someone can help me. I have built a new computer with an intel i7 7700k processor. GPU is GeForce 1080 Founders Edition. It is connected to my Yamaha a3050 and my TV is Sony 940e. Motherboard is MSI B250M. At any rate, I'm having issues with it saying my native is 1080P resolution. I can switch it to 4k but I have to do that manually. Which of course messes up the size of some programs. I can change the zoom under Windows option, but some programs will still have lettering and icons that look jagged. Anyway, is there something I can do to fix this? I believe all the drivers are up to date but I will double check that when I get home. HDR seems to be messed up too because when I enable it, the screen goes very dark on the desktop. This happens when 422 is selected for color output. When 444 or RBG is selected, HDR will switch on but then immediately switch off. What I don't know is if that is because I am on the desktop and not watching HDR content. I haven't tested that out yet. I am at work right now. Anyway help with the native 1080p issue would be helpful. Thanks
