Good 27in Monitor for shooters?

Monitors and Displays - www.overclock.net
My system specs are aging, though I would like to upgrade a monitor first as it will most likely have it for longer, before a new rebuild. I mainly play over watch and I would like to get a 27" monitor. I have read that 1440 is a good place to start off with this size and I was thinking of a 144hz, so I am not stuck at 60 or 75fps. As I am a fan of nivida I am really curious if gsync is worth it or not, I know it costs more than freesync. Lastly what do people think a good GTG response time is for shooters? I don't really do anything on this PC, but gaming so I don't think that IPS is worth it as it seems like it cost a lot to get an IPS with the refresh and response time of a TN.

With this said, any suggestions on a new 27"? '); }
