Gigabit WAP on Cat5e

Just bought a new house and installer connected a gigabit WAP on Cat5e. Contract called for Cat6. Should I be concerned? Will the WAP get the full speed over Cat5e?

I need a patch panel and a gigabit switch. I have 8 ethernet ports so i would need at least an 8 port patch panel. I want a 16 port gigabit switch that is unmanaged. My wiring in the house is cat5e. I am knew to this so I need some good recommendations.
