Always fun to see an heatpipe vs a solid copper rod in action.

Can you stack heatpiped heatsinks on top of another heatpipe? (ex. 990FX Northbridge/Mosfets...
For the 990FX AM3+ platform, many of the boards have a heatpipe that cools both the mosfets and the northbridge, the heatsinks sit above the heatpipe. So the heatpipe runs across the top of the heatsink "base" on the mosfets and the "base" of the north bridge. I know it's common practice to r...

Heatsink mod HP m6 1035dx?
Hello, I was wondering if it's possible to use a dual heatpipe heatsink from HP to better cool my laptop? Sorry I'm new to the whole cooling mod, but after doing some research it seems that having multiple heatpipes linking to the fan results in better temps. I know for a matter of fact that the ...
Passive heatpipe heatsink for a SAS host chipset?
I've picked up two Adaptec SAS RAID controllers really cheap. They work great, but run pretty warm, as they are designed for a 1U case with 200 linear feet per minute of airflow.I've tried one of the SilenX copper chipset coolers, but it takes up four PCI slots installed on the card with the fa...
New Peltier cooling mod
Hello! I have an ASUS K53sm which is getting hot sometimes, so even if it's still in waranty period i would like to modify it. I have a Peltier element (75w) attached with the hot side to a nice heatsink and i'm planning to use it like this: -first i will cut a square hole (4x4 cm2) a...
Heatsinks on Heatpipe
The temperature cannot be lowered by any means other than what I am theorizing. The notebook has long heat-pipes. I want to supplement them with copper heatsinks. Another option would be to replace the internal fan with a more powerful model. What should I buy and how do I connect it?
Custom motherbaord waterblock
So ive been thinking of watercooling the VRM (or whatever the 2 heatsinks around the cpu area cover) on my P7P55D-PRO because with my overclock, those heat sinks get really hot. I mean uncomfortably hot. So simple solution, put them under water. Only problem is i cant find a block for my motherbo...
