I did a Kaby Lake HTPC build for 4k streaming

I built this to be mostly a Plex/local media server, but wanted to work through actually building one that was 4K streaming capable.

I have a warning for those of you about to build one: MAKE SURE THE BOARD YOU GET SUPPORTS HDMI 2.0.

I didn't think this was something I'd have to dig into for a Z270/Kaby Lake chipset motherboard. I assumed it'd be standard - makes no sense not to. But MOST of the ITX (and ATX) boards out there do not support HDMI 2.0. The one I bought didn't even have a display port, just 2 HDMI 1.4 ports.

So make sure you keep an eye on that.

The one I used that I ultimately got to work is the ASRock Fatal1ty ITX Z270 board. The offerings from Gigabyte and Asus right now seem to be plagued with the older standard.
