Connecting AV Receiver to GPU and Monitor HELP
OK so I connected an HDMI cable from my GPU to my AV Receiver and then used the AV Receiver HDMI out to the monitor ( I had to use an HDMI to DVI converter because my monitor only supports VGA and DVI).
In simple words this is the setup:
HDMI cable to AV Recever- HDMI out from receiver to monitor (using DVI converter).
The Display works on the monitor but there is no sound coming off my AV Receiver Speakers and when I go to Manage Audio Devices in Control Panel the AV Receiver doesn't shows up.
But here is the tricky part:
If I connect the HDMI from my GPU to my AV Receiver and then use another DVI cable from the GPU to the monitor...this way the audio works and the AV Receiver appears on the Audio Devices on Control Panel BUT the display is messed up because then my AV Receiver is recognized as an extended monitor and I don't want this because then in the extended view my mouse goes out of the screen.
The reason I just dont connect the AV Receiver to normal fron audio plug of my PC is because that audio jack is for my headset that I only use to voice chat. When I am gaming I like to hear the game trough the Av Receiver speakers and the voice chatting trough my Headset
AV RECEIVER MODEL: YAMAHA RX-V371
