How to clear running config only on a Cisco 881 Router
It's been years since I did anything hardcore like reprogramming routers.
We've got a situation where we are using a router, it works fine, but we need to switch over to a new config with increased encryption.
I want to make the cutover by clearing the running config, putting in the new config, and once that's tweaked we can copy run start.
Everything I find about clearing config talks about wiping the flash so a router can be resold. I want to keep the startup config as is for now until we're certain the new config is good, but I want to start with a clean slate so I don't have carryover from the old that didn't get negated.
Anyone got the syntax for that?
