Clear vs Colored Coolant

Overclocking Forum - www.tomshardware.co.uk
Is there a difference between a clear coolant or, let's say, a blue or green coolant? I've heard that colored coolant has extra "particles" in it to change the color and that these particles are more likely to build up in your tubes. Is this true?
