Building website for intranet.......How others can connect?

Networking Forum - www.tomshardware.com
I've decided to build a family website for our LAN so my family can access it and look at picture and videos. (The site won't be accessible from the WAN) I'm going to be using IIS and I know how to access the webstie from my computer, the question I have is, how can I get other people from other computers to access it?

My idea is to go into their computers, and go to their host file and create an IP address entry for the website. Will that be enough? Or will the other computers have to be running IIS also? Do I have to port forward on my router? Or is that only for the WAN?

Any help on this would be great. Thanks.
