I think I'm having a complete system breakdown on my PC.
I've recently gone through installing a 1TB SSD on my computer, but since I did the system's gotten way more unstable since. In fact, now, I feel like every restart makes the system even more unstable than before. Right now, at the time of writing this, I keep finding the system continually no longer responding to clicking on the Windows icon in the lower left, and likewise the system will not respond when I click on the search bar. Additionally, the system either won't respond or takes an abnormally long time to open Windows Explorer/File Explorer, and to add to it, system shut downs and restarts keep hanging now on a 'task host window' that's claiming to be shutting down apps and other programs, but there's nothing of the sort that's running, so I don't know what else it's trying to do. One thing that I did see in the event viewer is my system keeps faulting every time it does a start up of the ASUS AI Suite II software that manages my motherboard and system settings on the fly. Additionally, the event viewer keeps also referencing something pertaining to a fault on Oculus runtime software that manages my Rift. Does anyone know what's happening? Because I've not had any additional changes to my system aside from the hard drive itself.
At the time of writing this, I'm trying to figure out how to boot the system in safe mode to confirm general functionality of Windows as a whole, maybe see if it's a driver issue. Can anyone confirm with me if this is a fault with Windows? Perhaps maybe a corrupt file that can be fixed with a system restoral?
