Automatic Repair Loop issue
My computer started going into an Automatic Repair Loop the other day and I can't seem to fix it. It would start up with the Asus Bios screen and ask me to press Del/F2 if I want to access the bios, then it would go to a black screen saying press any key to boot from CD/DVD Drive, and then it would go to the new Windows 8 Logo with the words Preparing Automatic Repair below it... and then a blue screen would flash up so fast I can't even read it saying something like "Automatic repair..... restart" and it automatically restarts. Mockingly there's a large face right in the middle of that final screen. That loop would repeat over... and over.. and over.
Only thing that happened differently the day this started was that I updated DivX and my power cable was knocked out of the socket and the PC was disconnected while I was playing WoW.
I've taken out my graphics card, I changed out the motherboard, my only other options now are to change out the CPU, HD, or RAM to see if one of them is the problem. Thought I'll pose the question on here to see if anyone has been through this before.
I brought it to Geek Squad too and they were no help, said it was "most likely" my motherboard, so I changed that out for a new one and same... thing... happens.
Side question, is there any way to test to see if my CPU is working properly? Between my HD, RAM, and CPU I feel like the CPU would suffer the most from a power surge.
