Asus GL502VT - faulty capacitor?

Troubleshooting Laptops & Notebooks - Badcaps Forums - www.badcaps.net
Hi all,

I've searched the forum for this model and couldn't find anything.

Please could someone look at the attachment and advise if this is indeed a capacitor as I suspect.

I suspect it to be a capacitor and I have probed for continuity between ground and both sides of the cap and I get a constant beep on both.

My questions:-

1. If it is a capacitor then it should only beep momentarily and start charging right? This is the case with similar looking SMD components around it.

2. If it is failed, how would I go about finding a value to replace it?

Regards,

MATT
