Advice - Cleaning Custom Loop. Growth Just Started.

Water Cooling - www.overclock.net
Hey all,

I have had this custom loop for ~3 years. Been working great and recently i have let it sit and somewhat neglected it. Haven't used the computer for a few months. I took the side panel off to inspect it yesterday and the water is cloudy and I can see buildup inside the blocks. My question is, how should I go about cleaning this up and making her fresh/new again?

The growth is black and the water is mildly cloudy. Looks almost like dirt buildup in the blocks. I assume I'll have to talk the water blocks apart, unmount the radiators and do some sort of a rinse on them. From there, reassemble the whole thing and run some flushes to make sure everything is 100%. I may take this time to go with new tubing as well which may negate my need to clean that.

My loop consists of bare copper EK blocks and copper alphacool rads. Would a vinegar/distilled water solution work? Would this tarnish the copper? It's not bad, I don't have barnacle-looking things on any of the blocks. I don't expect it'll take much to remove any of that from the blocks.

So ya, any suggestions? Helpful tips? Good reads on the subject? I am Googling around and for every solution you find a dozen that contradict it or people that shoot it down. I can get pictures later tonight when I get home from work if that helps! '); }
