7990 Ram cooling

ATI Cooling - www.overclock.net
Hi. Need advice

Have been unable to source a full cover block for the MSI 7990 they are super rare. So I have plumped for two generic VGA blocks, a buyer of these blocks reviewed them having used on same card. What the review didn't mention was the ram..

Will the chips be OK with just the back plate, which did seem to be what's cooling them in the stock cooling. Or should I remove the plate and put small stick on passive heatsinks?

Any advice welcomed '); }
