M18x r2 won't post. Svl17 unlocked bios.

Alienware M18x Forum - forum.notebookreview.com
Anyone familiar with svl17 and know if there's a fail-safe bios recovery? An option in the bios was enabled for the GPU and it now stopped booting. Now the computer just turns on for seconds and turns off. I took out the GPU and tried to start it and same deal. I've taken out the CMOS battery, same result. Blind flashing doesn't even work because for some reason the esata is not powering the USB drives. I find it hard to believe that a simple bio option can render an expensive notebook useless. Any ideas?

EDIT:

My computer was rendered useless due to "wrong bio settings". Something enabled within the bios menu and when I pressed F10 it saved.

These are the steps I took:

- Tried on-off cycling by taking out the cord and the battery. I pressed the Alien "power button" to discharge the board for 30 seconds then I pressed FN while powering on the system with just the cord. No success, the system still powered up with all lights then shut down within 2 seconds before even posting.

- Then I tried the above method three times more, once with the cmos battery out, once with reseating ram and then last with both cmos battery and ram. Still no success.

- Opened up the laptop, took out the 980m GPU and tried starting the computer. Same result.

- Tried making a blind flash usb drive. Tried 3 different USB drives. The computer will power on by holding down the END key while plugging in the power cord, all fans will boost to the max but the USB drive won't read on the esata port or any usb port for that matter.

Right now, my computer sits there without any ram cards and thecmos battery out until I can find something else out. Like I said before, I really find it hard to believe that this much hassle came out of somebios settings
