Strange AFP permission behaviour

NETGEAR ReadyNAS • View forum - Mac / OS X - www.readynas.com
Netgear Readynas 104

OS: 6.1.6

Situation:

Multiple OSX workstation running 10.5 up to 10.9 using AFP to connect to the readynas.

Each user has its own account on the readynas, which they use to connect via AFP

Everyone group has Read/Write access on the readynas but also tried to give only the selected users I want to have full read/write permissions.

Problem:

When user A creates a file or folder somehow it totally ignores the readynas user permissions and creates the file or folder with read only rights for the everyone group, User B logged in via AFP using his own account with full permissions has only read rights on the file or folder that user A created, and vica versa.

Resetting the permissions via the readynas interface works, but when new files and folders are created the same problem occurs.

Also tried to delete all the accounts and recreate them, using the same account on every mac gives the same problems.

It seems that OSX applies it own permissions instead of using the readynas permission settings.

Is there a fix for this?
