Hardware Recalibrate Dell P2415Q Monitor?

Monitors and Displays - www.overclock.net
In my infinite wisdom and curiosity, I decided to open up my Dell P2415Q monitor and in the process, cracked the panel (yeah I know, I dun goofed with that one.) However, it's not all at a loss as the panel I found out is an eDP BOE panel which felt oddly washed out to me, and had weird crosshatching effects from the terrible antiglare they put on it.

The controller and everything work without issue, you can see things "working" on the screen, they are just glitched from the panel damage. Thing is though, this has me thinking of actually replacing the panel in it with something better (and still compatible,) and I came across this from Elecok: .

This shows a comparison between the two panels:

In theory, it sounds like the LG SPA1 should be a drop in replacement as it uses the same voltages, same/similar connectors with the same pin pitch, and the panel expects the same bit depth. Layout of the backlight power seems like it is also CCAACC on both, the BOE just has a typo. The LG does use more power, but I assume this isn't too much out of spec...

Now, this is where things get wonky. The Dell is hardware calibrated with values to ensure the panel sticks to sRGB (you can see these values when you enter the factory menu mode.) Problem is, a new panel obviously is not going to have the same sets of values to make it sRGB, and I need to figure out how to calibrate it so I can get those values and actually program them into the monitor myself so it looks normal. Anyone ever actually hardware calibrate a Dell monitor before?

Note that this is different than ICC profiles or OS color management.

Hold up, this looks like what I am talking about: , I wonder if this overrides the LUT values I am thinking of - I guess you probably have to plug it in via USB.
