Parts help - not done this for years so I'm back at noob status
I want to build my custom loop in parts as I’m quite happy with my H110i cooling my Ryzen for the time being, it is overclocked but never goes above 60C, so all good there.
However, I want to cool my Vega and thought it best to at least forward plan so I won’t have to replace anything if/when I add the CPU to the loop.
I’m thinking of at first getting an EK Vega Block, obviously, and a 280mm Black Ice rad for the front of my case and then if/when I decide to WC the Ryzen too I’ll add the CPU block and a slim 360mm radiator for the top. Technically, the case can take PE and even XE sized radiators but it’d cover the QLED on my Crosshair 6, and the XE would actually go as low as the RAM but the radiator is offset so it’d be in front of it, I’m just not sure I’d like the look. The front can house any thickness 280mm rad, tho.
This way I can just cool the Vega on the custom loop for now and still use my H110i for the Ryzen.
For the pump of thinking of the EK-XRES 100 DDC 3.1 PWM MX which actually seems quite cheap and cheerful and looks like it wouldn’t have too much trouble even when I add the CPU block and slim 360 into the loop.
I picked Black ice as they were all the rage when I last did this, probably over 10 years ago. They're still OK going by more recent reviews?
Budget is fairly open but I’m not after extreme performance so going from, say, 48C to 45C by changing to a more expensive DDC pump isn’t something I’m concerned about; the main part at the moment is cooling the Vega.
Does this seem reasonable? Anything screaming "NO!"?
Also, what advise would you give to make general maintenance easier? That's my main concern, having to drain and refill. '); }
