i5 Skylake vs Ryzen 5 build

General Processor Discussions - www.overclock.net
looking to move on a new build and am just looking for some input. I've been weighing the pros and cons of both builds for a couple of days now, but I just want to be sure that i'm not missing any angles.

So I currently have what I have as seen in my showcase. I have access to a i5 6500 for 200 that I would be able to then overclock via hacked bios using my Z170A motherboard. The other option would be to dump the MB and transition to AM4. I would be looking to get the Ryzen 5 1400 with the possibility of upgrading to Ryzen+ in the future.

So basically, do I get the i5 6500 and try my hand at overclocking for 200, or should I go for a Ryzen 5 1400 CPU for 220? I use my PC primarily for gaming but also do photo and video editing on the side. Nothing professionally, just more of a hobby. I'm looking for expandability in the future and decent if not very good performance for the time being.

Any input would be greatly appreciated!
