Old Liebert PDU acting up, best replacement?

Other Hardware - Ars Technica OpenForum - arstechnica.com
We inherited some data center power equipment when we leased our current building 4 years ago (it was empty for 6-7 years before that). Electricians tested the Liebert cabinet 50kVA PDU (with the "hydra" outlet cables under the raised floor) and said it was in working order, so the higher-ups decided to not replace it.

The past couple of weeks the PDU has been sounding its alarm. We had a Liebert service tech come out and look at it. This unit (originally installed 1989) was end-of-life back in 2009 or so. So we're probably looking at replacement. Even when it goes into alarm mode, and the display lights for the output side turn off, it's obviously still feeding power through to the computer equipment, because the UPSes never start screaming to tell us they're on battery. I've been in there for over 10 minutes at a stretch with the PDU showing an alarm and the output voltage showing 25-35 instead of 210-220, and the UPSes never make a fuss.

In our previous building (built for us in 1991, we sold it in 2013 to move to a smaller leased facility), all our data center power circuits were on a standard breaker panel in the wall, with outlets in the walls and under the raised floor, and UPSes in-line between the circuit outlets and the computer equipment.

Should we be OK with replacing the fancy PDU with a standard breaker panel, since all our power conditioning is provided by UPSes after the existing PDU? We don't want to overbuy if we don't have to.
