Kaby Lake still faster in most games?

CPU & Motherboard Technologia - Ars Technica OpenForum - arstechnica.com
The embargo on Cofevefe Lake is down and looking at benchmark, it seems that many games are slightly faster on Kaby Lake:

This is strange as Kaby i7-7700K is 4.6GHz turbo, vs i7-8600k 4.7GHz turbo.

so apples to apples, it seems that for games and engines that can only take advantage of 4 or 2 cores, Kaby Lake still seems ever so slightly faster.

Could this be due to TDP limit in Coffee Lake?
