why did they stop making crts?
they're a bit before my time
but I was reading up on them and I'm wondering why people ever made the switch to lcds
better colors, resolution as high as some 30" ips screens, or high fps at a lower resolution,
variable native resolution so no scaling artifacting, so lower resolutions look better,
I know they were thicker, but I read that when hd tvs were coming into fashion they made hd crts that were only half a foot or so thick which is acceptable in my opinion.
I mean now I feel that tech is coming out that betters on them overall such as the yamasaki catleap good colors high res and high fps, but I wonder what crts would be like if they were still being made?
is it the same reason you can't get a thick rugged smartphone?
