Have you gone 4K on your PC?

Computers Forum - PCs, laptops, hardware, software - City-Data Forum - www.city-data.com
I bought a 1080P Dell monitor back in 2009/2010. That was my primary monitor for years. In 2015, I bought a 27" Samsung 1080P monitor that was a massive improvement over that Dell monitor in color quality, bright whites, text crispness, etc.

I upgraded from a 560TI to a 960TI either in 2015 or 2016. The 960 was mostly fine for casual 1080P gaming, but struggled on more intensive titles.

I bought a 28" 4K Samsung monitor at the Knoxville, TN Costco last weekend for $299. Text doesn't seem that much crisper at normal distance, but if I get up close, I can't distinguish pixels. I'm able to play World of Warcraft/Diablo 3 mostly fine at 4K, but Doom chugs Textures are to die for. I really want to revisit Witcher 3 and get back into more advanced PC gaming. I was a major PC gamer growing up and have settled back toward consoles over the last few years. My financial situation has improved and I'm basically waiting on Vega to choose between that and Big Pascal.

Did you go 4K yet? What are your impressions?
